An old saying laments that "a sleepless night is as long as a year."
Anyone suffering from a sleep disorder would relate to that sentiment. More than one-half of adults in the U.S. experience at least intermittent sleep disturbances. For most, it is an occasional night of poor sleep or daytime sleepiness. However, 15 to 20% of adults suffer from chronic sleep disturbance. In addition to great frustration, clinical studies continue to demonstrate that a lack of sleep negatively impacts health. That includes our physical health and our mental health.
At Paparella Ear Head & Neck Institute, our board certified physicians are highly trained in treating sleep disorders.
